Maria's All Natural Frozen Yogurt on Bellaire (It Only Took Me 24 Years to Discover It)

My friend told me about a frozen yogurt place on Bellaire near Chimney Rock.

Maria’s Natural Yogurt. The owner, or family, is from Yucatán originally. I joked with him about adding an Xtabentun yogurt flavor. The yogurt is made by them on premises.
Excellent flavors . You choose your flavors and top with pecans or fruit. When you first arrive let them know it is your first time and they will let you sample the flavors for the day.

For my visit, I chose mango and guanabana, with pecans on top.
Highly recommended.

Yogurt - Making Yogurt

The important things to remember are:

More yogurt doesn't always make a better final product. I think that 1 tablespoon is enough.

180 F milk heated in the microwave. You can use a pot of course but you will get sticking. So I use a Pyrex in the microwave.

Cool to 105 F - 90 F.

2 tablespoons yogurt to the one quart of milk. 24-48 hours to ferment and solidify, depending on ambient temperature. You can strain to thicken even more.

You don't have to use your car.
